“Would you live here for $2,847/month?”
That’s my BIG-money investment question.
Last week, I walked through a “modern” factory-built home in Idaho that made me laugh out loud.
The selling points:
• “Premium finishes”
• “Innovative design”
• “Decades of experience”
The reality:
• Water heater IN THE MASTER BEDROOM closet
• Kitchen island that creates an obstacle course
• Bathroom doors that slam into each other
The factory rep proudly said: “We’ve been doing this for decades. We figured out what works.”
I couldn’t help but ask: “For who? Robots?”
Here’s the truth about real estate that nobody talks about:
Engineers know where things CAN go.
Developers know where things SHOULD go.
My simple investment rule:
→ If I wouldn’t live there
→ I won’t build there
→ I definitely won’t invest there
Because if I have to do gymnastics to make coffee or listen to a water heater while getting dressed…
How can I look a tenant in the eye and say “This is your dream home”?
Don’t confuse “it works” with “it works well.”
